5 Questions To Ask Yourself As A Business Owner

Sometimes, the importance of self evaluation cannot be overlooked. As a business owner, it is very necessary to shift back once in a while and ask yourself important questions. Doing so will help you to realize what you’re doing wrong or right and help you point out the aspects you’re meant to work on and improve.

What important questions should you ask yourself?

Vision. You know why you started the business and established the company. You know the problems you want to solve and the needs you want to meet. Once in a while, take a back seat and reflect; are you still on track? Are you really meeting the needs? Is the vision still in place and has everything you have done so far been in line with the vision? If you discover that you have deviated, then it is time to re-strategize. If you’re on the right path, then give yourself a pat on the back and think of how to push further.

Finances. At intervals, you should bring out your financial documents and go through them. Then ask yourself if you’re growing financially, how is the growth like? Slow or fast? What makes it slow? What are you doing wrong? What are you doing right? Knowing what you’re doing wrong or right will help you decide if you need to stick with your methods or change them.

Social media. A lot of business owners are jumping on the social media bandwagon because it is the ‘in‘ thing now, but you need to find purpose for your business being online. How? Ask yourself, why am I using social media – for more customers, fun, or because everyone is using it? Which social media platform will work best for my business; Instagram, Facebook? What will it cost me; data, time? Answering these basic questions and more will help you find or re-enforce your vision.

Customer service. This is one of the most important question you should ask. Is your customer service awesome? Are your customers always complaining or praising you? Do you have the best customer care representative? How many customers have stopped patronizing you and how many have you gained in the last few months? These, and many more questions will help you run your business properly.
