6 Self Care Tips For Every Female Entrepreneur

As an entrepreneur, you must always learn to take care of yourself – your body, your mind and so on. Most entrepreneurs spend time nurturing their businesses while they forget to nurture themselves. This is not in any way healthy or ideal.

So how can you care for yourself while managing your business? Keep reading.

Eat right. There are many entrepreneurs who do not eat right. Because of tight and busy schedules – especially when the business is still young – some people skip meals, most importantly breakfast and some don’t eat until night time. Some grab fast food and eat on the go to save time. Even though you’re busy, learn to eat at the right time and make sure you eat the right food too, and also drink lots of water regularly.

Talk to someone. You know you don’t necessarily have to carry the whole weight of the burden of running a business on your shoulders. Sometimes, the stress of the business can cause depression and tension to the body. Loneliness can take a psychological toll, and even contribute to physical health problems. To avoid this, learn to talk to someone. Human interaction can be soothing and it can relieve you of stress.

Exercise. You should also create time to exercise, no matter how little the time is. Exercise releases endorphins that act as your body’s natural painkillers. It can relieve tension and improve the quality of your sleep, thus reducing your stress levels.¬†Regular aerobic exercises boost the part of your brain responsible for memory and learning, so you should take care of yourself by exercising regularly.

Sleep. Most people sleep below the recommended hours needed to make the body system work properly. As a business owner, it is tempting to sleep very late planning and strategizing on how to run the business, and then wake up very early to start the day’s job. By doing this, you are actually slowing weakening your body system. Make sure you get enough rest on a daily basis.

Go for medical check-ups. Once in a while,  create time to check yourself medically. Get an appointment with the doctor and do a general checkup. We recommend doing this at least twice a year.

Reward yourself. You work hard most of the time, so make sure you reward yourself once in a while too. This would motivate you to do better and you will be more energised to work harder.
